About Course
When you first join the course, there is an initial and diagnostic assessment for the B1 SELT test. This is done to find out your readiness for taking a UKVI B1 Secure English Language Test. It is the only Speaking and Listening exam to fulfill the knowledge of the English Language requirement. The diagnostic test is to help both the tutor and learners identify problems that they have with the language. As a result, you get prepared for your selected UKVI B1 Secure English Language Test. In addition, you get the use of professionally prepared pre-test materials with qualified and experienced teachers. You also get mock tests prior to the day of your test. The preparation course will prepare candidates for the exam but they will need to be at the correct level of English to pass this exam. If a candidate is not at the correct level an 8-hour preparation course will not help them reach the required level.
What to expect from our Prepare for B1 SELT – English Test for British Citizenship Course?
- Free "Preparing For Trinity ISE I (B1) - Student's Book & CD" worth £25
- Prior to the start of the course, an assessment of your English language level and your skills in Reading, writing, Listening, and Speaking.
- The course will cover exam technique, language improvement, familiarisation with the SELT exam structure and criteria, and preparation for the first part of the exam. We will also provide you with the training materials and details guidance on what you will need to do in order to pass the exam.
- If you are not at the level required for the exam we will suggest courses you can do to improve your English before you sit the exam.
- After your preparation course we can book your Trinity SELT exam for you with an examination centre that is most convenient for you.

15 (but usually class numbers range between 4 to 6 people)
Course Duration
6 hours in total. This can be taken 2 days in a week or over 2 weeks period.
Admission Requirements
- You do not need any previous qualifications to study English with us.
- You must be aged 16+
- A minimum of 10 hours of enrolment required.
Intake Dates
Any weekdays start throughout the year (except national public and Christmas breaks). Subject to availability.
Class Times
This course is 3 hours per day, 2 days in a week or spread over 2 weeks period. You can choose from one of our 3 sessions to attend your course (subject to availability).

Fees & Funding
All our English courses are self-funded. You are considered to be a self-funded student if you are funding your own studies or you are getting financial help from family or friends or receiving financial assistance directly from an external funder excluding UK student loan
